Andrey Sharonov is the National ESG Alliance CEO since 2022. He was the Rector of the Moscow School of Management Skolkovo from 2013 to 2016 and its President from 2016 to 2021. Prior to that, he served as the Vice Mayor in the Moscow Government for economic policy, science, industry, entrepreneurship, trade, competition policy and public procurement.
Andrey Sharonov was born in Ufa in 1964. He graduated from Ufa Aviation University and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. Mr Sharonov holds a PhD degree in Sociology. He was a People's Deputy of the USSR in 1989-1991; he headed the Russian Federation Committee on Youth Affairs until 1996. Andrey Sharonov worked in the RF Ministry of Economic Development and Trade as a Department Head, Deputy Minister, State Secretary and 1st Deputy Minister from 1996 to 2007. From 2007 to 2010 he was the Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CJSC Investment Company Troika Dialog, heading the investment banking division.
Andrey Sharonov is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Management Company NefteTransService and Meditsina Company; a member of the Board of Directors and the independent director of PAO Sovcomflot, PhosAgro, EN+ GROUP PLC.
Andrey Sharonov holds a number of awards: the ‘Aristos’ award in the category ‘Independent Director’ received in 2009; the special award ‘For Merits in Education Management’ received in 2016; the national award ‘Director of the Year – 2009’ in the nomination Independent Director and the international award ‘Person of the Year 2012’ in the nomination Business Reputation. In 2016, Mr Sharonov received a special award ‘Contribution to the Development of the Independent Directors Institution’ from the Association of Independent Directors and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. He was awarded the Order of Honor, merit certificates and diplomas of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation. Andrey Sharonov is an Honored Economist of the Russian Federation.
