The Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) and the Vladimir Potanin Foundation are welcoming applications for the Olympic Scholarships competition as part of the Vladimir Potanin Fellowship Programme.
RIOU students have a chance to learn from up-to-date international case studies delivered by leading Russian and international experts in the field of sports management. Upon completion of the course, students are awarded RIOU’s diplomas of professional retraining (issued in Russian and English), conferring the Master of Sport Administration qualification.
RIOU Rector Professor Lev Belousov: “RIOU and the Vladimir Potanin Foundation have worked closely together for almost nine years now. This cooperation has allowed many talented professionals from around the world to obtain quality training in the field of sports management, which is one of the key objectives of our university. Many of our graduates have taken senior positions in sports organisations, and joined the Foundation’s fellowship community. Upon graduation, they maintain both professional and personal contacts implementing joint projects. This would not be possible without our cooperation with the Foundation.”
General Director of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation Oksana Oracheva: “Our fellows pursue different career paths: they become involved in implementing major international projects, as well as important local initiatives; they start their own organisations and join large-scale sports movements. But what unites them is their strong motivation to build up their competencies, learn about best practices and share their own expertise. I am confident that RIOU’s educational programme will enable the competition winners to fulfill their potential, and will open the doors for them to the international community of sports industry professionals.”
The Olympic Scholarships programme has been run since 2013. Over the eight years, it has awarded scholarships to 157 fellows from more than 66 different countries. The current intake on RIOU’s international Master of Sport Administration course includes 20 Vladimir Potanin fellows from 13 countries.
Annually, the Foundation provides scholarships to over 20 students, which cover the tuition fees, accommodation on the Sochi campus, as well as individual monthly allowances.
Applications for academic year 2021/22 should be submitted to the RIOU Admissions Board by 31 July 2021 via this link.
The competition results will be announced on 6 August 2021.
